In the musical, "Fiddler On The Roof," (A favorite of mine) the young man who is lead towards marriage, sings a song of love and the wonder of love.
This "miracle" ~~oh, so, shortbusnormally presented!~~arrives, sometimes, with a spank and a tickle. Family, and Fiddler's are just
a blip, just a beginning, and just .....
...tolerated~~at times. This is for everyman who suffered the slings and arrows of "Great Expectations." This is for you & yours & the damsel you love.
Spank on..They damn well deserve it.

November 23, 2007 :
This video says "nothing."
(Then, again, it may just say everything: Art and culture and society crashing up against each other; music to our collective ears, masking our fears; brainless politics bumping and grinding to a halt; and, the freedom ~~says, ShortbusNormal~~to be sexually frustrated & express it with loud, blaring, punk-rock music..oh Yeah!)
**
I take that back: It's about nothing..Nothing at all.
:)

November 18, 2007 :
I wrote a short poem entitled, "Super Hero" on this day. Afterwards, I was thinking of the whole Super Hero idea, (over-done, of course, these days) and it occurred to me that this little poem would be a good one to accompany a video.
The poem eventually ended up in "The Wind Shall Hear My Words."
The Music & lyrics in the video are by, Ani DiFranco (A favorite, always, of mind. Talk about blunt & New York Poetry..super heroine, she is.)

Okay. This one is entitled, "Blue Move-e." What you'll lean into the speaker to hear is the song "O'deed on Life itself" [totally, mis-spelled,aye!]. It's a crappy, recorded-through-the-telephone-podcast version.
What can I tell you? I love Blue Oyster Cult. My band, when I was in a Band, played this song. Hail, Canada...and, thank you.
The movie...is "blue"

November 17, 2007:
Because it is only proper, there will be some long notes for this one.
This video was originally created by TV2Guy (my first YouTube Channel.)
It's probably the most rewarding video I've ever put together, regardless of YouTube's Copyright Violation it earned.
The ShortbusNormal version now, today, has different music attached to it.
This video, appearing on THIS blog, still stands at YouTube..the Original.
**
Anyone who loses someone they love. This video is for you.
**
I've been gratified, and happy, knowing that this video, among the hundreds I've uploaded, is still the most popular, the most viewed, and the most "clicked."
**
Here, in a Eulogy I gave on 09/24/2005, lie the origins of "Hold On...":
**
"A few days ago, my Sister, B, asked me if I'd like to say a few words for our Mother.
I told her I'd be happy to do so; and, then thought to myself: What an honor this is, to be able to stand before family & friends, young & old, and share with you all, what a very special person our Mother was.
"Many of you here today have stories, remembrances, and instances, wherein Dorothy had touched your life in ways big & small...but, always, with a huge heart attached. Whether in times of laughter, or times of tears, you could always count on her to be completely present:
"For a hug, a kind word, story of her own..to bring a chuckle..if the chips were down. She was just that kind of person; a person of kindness, who managed, even in the thick of her own illnesses, to carry herself with a grace & dignity few but the Saints could only muster.
"There was Strength in this. Whatever strengths I have, were seemingly passed down to me from my Mother. I'm sure my Sister, B & my Brother J, could tell you the same as I.
"Our Mother lead an exemplary life. You could count on her. She would talk to anyone~~Complete strangers, in the Supermarket!~~and, not just talk, but listen.
"As a Child, I'd stand, stupefied, holding her hand in mine, as some total stranger, (who "kinda" resembled my Mom, but was definitely NOT a relative) unburdened her life story, with all the particulars. I'd gaze up at my Mother, and there she'd be, listening; intently, listening. And, nodding her head in all the right places. The thing is:
"My mom, Our Mom, everyone Mom for today, really WAS paying attention; really was listening. Like I said, she was just that kind of person.
"My Father & Mother recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. All of the family gathered for a party. It was not soon after that, she'd gone into St Francis Hospital, for her last stay....
"....When Dorothy passed away, she looked beautiful. She was no longer suffering. She looked peaceful, angelic. We know she is with the Lord, in Heaven, surrounded by the people who have loved her, and have missed her..as do we all, today.
"In conclusion, I'd like to paraphrase some lyrics by Phil Collins, written while he was in the band, Genesis:
"We'll hold onto our hearts, because she'll always be there."

November 13, 2007 :
This video is reflective of my own personal ups&downs: For the last three years, I've been two steps forward and three steps back (emotionally & physically.)
I'm posting this Video on Jan. 16th; however, it could be November of 2007 all over again.
I remain, on stand-by....or, standstill.
I just want to breathe again.

This was another quiet day; a day of remembrance. There were news reports, on television, about the latest casualties coming back from Iraq. It was the Day before
Veteran's Day.
In Remembrance...becoming, a theme.

November 5, 2007:
Just around Thanksgiving, in November of 2007, RIPFilms (at YouTube) was holding a Thanksgiving Joke Contest. I didn't win for my entry; however, it was fun to re-create a joke that my Mom loved to tell. This is true: She really did tell this joke many times..Her voice & expressions were priceless. She told it well..better than I.
Thank you, Mom.
Rest in Peace.

November 3, 2007:
My message, as "description," for this video was, "uhhh..let's just say, Easy Does It,"
Whatever low-point I was feeling, entered "crash" phase. While putting this one together I was re-evaluating my life. Truth told, I was NOT drinking, or using drugs, at this time. What was "killing me," was "being alone."
There's a huge difference between being alone and loneliness.
Somewhere, between these two ways of being you can find self-esteem and peace, waiting to emerge from grief.

October 28, 2007:
When you're having problems in life, whether they're emotional or financial, it helps to know you're not alone. Each piece of this persona I created, ("ShortbusNormal") without doubt, contains glimmers of my own "real-time" problems.
The idea that we're all on the Shortbus in life, for me, is a comforting one. Confession: I rode the Shortbus when I was child, so I know both sides of the story.
Anything, which moves people forward is a good thing.
There's more to life than just sex and violence and hated..There is love, compassion, empathy, and hopefully understanding, too.
[This is not an easy video for me to re-visit. I was at a pretty low point...and, yes, I can honestly say now, I was considering suicide.
I'm easily hurt...However, the Last Call only made me stronger in the end.
Just a beginning, friends. Just a beginning.xx,ShortbusNormal.]

October 24, 2007 :
I am a huge fan of Radiohead.
After uploading this video, I realized
just how much I'd brought to the surface..breaking free:
There, within the confines of the frame,
I saw my Depression...and, these Uncertain Times we live..merging.
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..."
~Charles Dickens~

The title: "FAST FORWARD"~Tiny Bubble."
I'm still struck by it's stark, historical/political overtones...
I MAY have been on to something. Strange.
The images, with each video, are becoming somewhat redundant.
However, I'm happy with the way I've used them..playing with aspects, emotional & hard-hitting..
...Oh, how the bubble burst!
